Chris Plakias
Head of Indirect Taxes, Westpac Banking Corporation
Chris is Head of Indirect Taxes at the Westpac Group and is responsible for managing the Group's GST, R&D, FBT, and state tax obligations. He has been directly involved in indirect tax policy and tax administration for more than 20 years. Prior to joining Westpac, Chris spent 10 years at KPMG in a variety of audit and tax consulting roles. He is a member of the ABA's GST working group and a member of the ATO's GST Stewardship Group.

Nabil has a strong background working with clients in the financial services, property, FMCG, and government industries.

His diverse background allows for partnership with both the C-Suite and in-house tax functions across all industries and clients to identify and develop growth strategies and working capital by liberating above-the-line cash savings embedded in clients’ operational cost base.
